The Big Red One: Named for the insignia of the First Infantry Division, this World War II combat film follows a handful of young GIs and their sergeant as they battle their way from North Africa through Sicily, Omaha Beach and Belgium to the ultimate horror of the concentration camp at Falkenau, Czechoslovakia.

Twelve O'clock High: The commander of a U.S. bomber unit in Britain during World War II begins to crack under the strain.

The Longest Day: Re-enacts the military operation of D-Day from four points of view--the workings of the high commands of the American, English, French, and German forces in their battle scheme for Normandy. Largely filmed on actual invasion sites in France.

The Bridge at Remagen: Based on the true story of an astute American general and a high-ranking German officer, torn by the conflicting demands of his country and fellow countrymen, during the last days of World War II.

Battle of the Bulge: Nazi Panzer forces stage a last-ditch Belgian front offensive that could turn the tide of WWII. A spectacular recreation of a crucial campaign.

The Bridge on the River Kwai: British soldiers captured by the Japanese during World War II are forced to construct a strategic railroad bridge which a commando team is instructed by the British High Command to destroy.

All Quiet on the Western Front: "This story is neither an accusation nor a confession, and least of all an adventure, for death is not an adventure to those who stand face to face with it. It will try simply to tell of a generation of men who, even though they may have escaped its shells, were destroyed by the war. . ." Title screens. 1914. War has broken out in Europe. A group of German college students are convinced to enlist after their teacher, Professor Kantorek, gives an impassioned speech about the honor of dying for their Fatherland. Paul Bäumer--sent to the Western Front where the fighting is most severe--is soon stripped of illusions about war being glorious. There is nothing but fear, pain, and the randomness of death. Paul is the sole survivor of his group and when he returns home, he denounces the war and his professor. Returned to the action, Paul tries to cope with the incessant fear that eats away at a soldier's insides, turning them hollow and empty.
